Thumbs up Nice to witness the blast your having!

Ciao Sergio, cool vision! 66GTV seems to eat Wakefield up and you appear to have less work to do behind the wheel when on the limit because of the new Yokos! Nice to witness the blast your having after such a first class car build. See you soon.

Sergio - great post as usual! What rear end and 5th gear do you have? How is your car on the freeway driving around 110kph?

Thanks Eliseo, the differential is a quad plated LSD 4:3 ratio with a long 5th so highway driving is cruisy, but boring....😎

Just realized you do not have sun visors, looks great. Iíll have to follow your choice on that as well.

Phillip Island July19

Gotta say that I had one of the most eventful track days at Phillip Island.......

Night prior to driving down to Phillip Island I stripped one of the exhaust manifold studs which thankfully Bruno Colautti from Maranello PurSang | Auto Servicing, Repairs, Parts | Alfa Fiat Ferrari was able to fix on my way through Melbourne.

Then on the morning of the event whilst adjusting the rebound found that my LHS top shock mount plate has completed broken in three pieces and came up with a quick solution to resolve!! (apprehensively you can hear the plate moving in the video!).

Lastly, we didn't install the AH quick shift correctly as hadn't centre punched (re-staked) the thread 'enough' to stop the active bolt from unwinding the nut loose......even with lock tight!!
Unfortunately, I was only able to complete 10 laps but still bettered my time by 4.23 seconds, and YES I was able to extract the nut (in good condition) from the bottom of the gearbox now just have to fish out the missing washer

Hey Sergio

You have really sorted your car well and also drive it great.
Impressive lap time also.
Any laps around Phillip Island is worth it,,and Towing of the car 1000 kms each way to do it.
Great Video
Another successful weekend for you.

Is this a common failure on the first series? On mine (a project car) one side was just like yours and on the other side the plate was torn from the mounting point on the chassis (the 2 welded nuts out, see picture). When I got the car standard spica shocks were installed.
Does it happen with stiffer shocks, or shocks that reach the end before the bump stops do?

Maybe some extra reinforcement is needed...

Thanks Rob,
Not sure if 10 laps for 2000 km + cost is classed as successful!
At least Iíll have more to accomplish at PI next time.

Ciao Macaco,
I did reinforce the whole area but still utilised the original 66í top shock mount plate which I thought was ok!!
