Alfa restoration shop in SF Bay Area

I am looking for a GOOD restoration shop in (and around) the San Francisco Bay Area to restore a 1959 Giulietta Spider Veloce. A complete restoration; i.e. body & mechanicals.

I would recommend taking it up to Jorge Santana in Vancouver BC. You'll save a fortune over a local Bay Area restoration and he's a concours winning restorer. The motor could then go to Wes Ingram in Seattle who is quite close to Jorge just 2 hours up the freeway.

Jorge is the best panel beater I have ever seen and Wes' reputation with alfa motors is unmatched. You'll never regret it.

Jorge has my 1750 Spider and a couple 2600 touring spiders in now so he's likley fully booked but they come and go as the months roll by.

PM me offline and I can put you in touch with him.

Delllta,

I was speaking with Jorge Santana, the guy in Vancouver BC Canada who's restoring my 1750 Spider and did the body on Tubut's 2600, and he's planning on being in San Francisco this weekend and he said that if you like he can have a look at the car and give you an idea of what he thinks it will take to do the restoration.

He's a really nice old guy and he's been at this for quite some time (50 years or so) so even if you do the work locally it may be worth driving down to him and letting him go through the car with you.

If you're interested semd me a pm and I'll get Jorge's numbers to you.

There's also epifany restorations on 5th and gilman in berkeley, just stop by and see what Paolo is working on, usually there are such a number of REALLY exotic and rare cars its worth the trip just to droool a bit. There is no question of the quality work done.

Thanks for the info.

I live in Vancouver BC and just inherited two Alfa's; the 59' spider veloce & a 70' Junior Zagato. Both cars are currently located in the SF bay area. I'm trying to arrange to have the 59' restored in the bay area (due to logistics) and bring it up when done. The other car is in good shape and I just need to pick it up.

Delllta,

Well since Jorge is going to be down there you may want to have a talk with him, he's honest and does exquisite work. Choice is yours but since he's going to be in San Francisco this weekend it would be a shame to pass up the opportunity since he's right there in Richmond near your home.

I will PM you with Jorge's phone number in Vancouver.

All the best,

J
