Atlanta's Annual Italian Car Day - October 8th

Atlanta's Annual Italian Car Day
Saturday, October 8th, 2005 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Share the passion of your Italian Car! This year's 9th Annual Italian Car Day will be held once again at the intimate setting of Kurt's Restaurant in Duluth, GA. This is the same location as last year's wonderful show! All Italian marques and Italian cycles are invited.

Directions from downtown Atlanta: Exit I-85 at Pleasant Hill Road (Gwinnett Mall exit) travel 5 miles west past Gwinnett Place Mall. Follow Pleasant Hill Road to the traffic light at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Turn right heading north on to Peachtree Industrial for one mile, then turn left at the traffic light at River Green Parkway. Kurt's is on the right. All Italian cars will park on Kurt's property with over 200 show car parking spaces available. All other guest vehicles will park in adjoining lots next to Kurt's. Show car parking is grouped by marque.

Registration is $20 per Italian vehicle, pay at the door. All registered Italian cars and cycles will be eligible for class awards. registration includes voting ballot, raffle ticket and event sponsor packet. This year all registered owners will get a professional photograph of their car at the show!

Guests and spectators admitted free.

All marques will compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies in their respective marque. Each registered owner will vote for one car in each of the marques. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be determine by the number of votes for each car. Other awards will be given including best modified and "Best of Show."

Raffle prizes donated by vendors will be awarded; don't miss out on your opportunity to win thousands of dollars in valiuable prizes!

Kurt's will be serving a fine buffet lunch at noon, no reservations are required for lunch. Lunch is not included in the car registration this year. Kurt's will also offer an excellent selection of beverages with a cash bar.

I emailed the organizer, John Montgomery, and there will be Alfa BB info on the information table. Does anyone else have any ideas what we could do at this event? T-shirts?

I posted on another thread about this event that we should wear black shirts and blue jeans (Black/Blue = BB) to stand out from the sea of red (Ferrari and Alfa) shirts worn by everyone else. Hope the weather cooperates.

According to the local news channels, the weather will have cleared by ~8am tomorrow morning. 'Fall-like temperatures are expected'. That's worth at least 5HP.

Mr. Dredd, it's time to leave: pack your bags! The weather has cleared up in the ATL area. There is a great expectation that you will buy a GTV6 today. You won't be able to do that sitting there, will you?

Dave, it was a pleasure meeting you at the event and really enjoyed talking GTV6s with you. Tell Don I loved his GTV6, I'll have to convince my CFO now that $4500 is a great buy on that car.

What a great day! It was a pleasure to meet up with friends old and new.

I took a few pix and posted them onto a brand new smugmug account.

See if you can access them: http://dave2pvd.smugmug.com/gallery/872927

I still think Mike's Spider is the most beautiful car. Here's another shot of it. I love this shot of the Callaway too.

Lovely. Somewhat off topic, but does anyone remember Albert, the proprietor of Autodelta in Atlanta in the 80's. An avid bicycler, I heard he was struck by a drunk driver. The quitessential alfisti, and an amazing person who turned me on to the mark.

1974 Spider -- Sold, alas.

Hey, Alan! Thanks for posting the pictures from ICD. For you guys who are admiring the Callaway Twin Turbo GTV6, that's my baby, and, with mixed emotions, I should tell you all it's for sale. That's an all original car, inlcuding the paint (with the exception of the lowered suspension and 17" 3-piece Gotti wheels), #24 of the 33 produced. Email me if you're a serious buyer: [email protected]. Chuck
