89 Spider Quad Room in dash near radio

I am starting to go through a complete restoration of my 89 Quad and one of the changes I want to make is to the radio. There is already an aftermarket radio in the dash that I am going to replace. I want to replace that and add a hidden add on satellite radio receiver up there. That receiver is about 4"x 2"x3/4". Is there room up there with the vents and other wiring. Also, the radio is a 1 DIN receiver. I have seen a number of 1 DIN receivers that have GPS screens that come out and are about 5 x 4. They are completely hidden when not in use. The problem I see is that the radio sits farther in than the vents above it. I think the motorized screen will hit them when it comes out. Anyone have experience or researched any of these questions?
