how about the little tweeters in the door handle?

on a 95LS - what tweeter is the right size there? And does anybody know if their accessed from the front or does the door have to be taken apart? I haven't been able to pop the cover trim off but I'm going delicately cuz I just don't know.

Speaker sizes

Still a bit of confusion here...
91-93 are 1.5 DIN...not 2 DIN as previously stated

Can somebody please positively identify speaker sizes according to year and location?...

IE-91 front doors.......?
91 rear shelf......?

Thanks...D

Re speakers for 164

I have a 95 and found the 4 speakers had "shredded" surrounds. Expected from origional 19 year old units.
I bought Pioneer 6.5 (front) and 9.5 (rear) units. The boxes had cutout templates on top which I used to measure against the stock mounting holes, not wanting to drill the front plastic frames or rear ones. The rear speakers dropped right in and the stock mounting screws lines up. The front ones did as well but the fram eof the speakers do not seal against the plastic mount as readily as the stock speakers. Not a big deal. I now find (one week later) that my f/l speakers is scratchy, as is the tweeter. I think it;s an amp issue but I cannot find any reference to an external amp. I have the factory stereo cassette with 12 pack changer control and touch screen. Does thi shave an external amp somewhere? if so, I can sheck that and if not, I can check the head unit for corroded contacts or fried resistors, etc. Kind of want to keep origional as the 12 pack takes care of the CD and MP3 issue.

Reviving an old thread. Alfissimo, you said to not use a double DIN in early cars. Has anybody tried to fabricate to fit a double DIN? I could not find anything in my searches. I would assume you lose the ash tray but would that even create enough room? I have a very nice Alpine with nav lying around that I would love to put to good use.
