Hi RKT Roy so that's your red ATS-V! I was in the red FRS.
Maybe we should turn this thread to link all the videos from the weekend?
I added these 2 and long vids, mostly raw footage from both days from most sessions. Unlike what you usually see of driver view vids, my videos look back from the car to get a different perspective. ( Especially being the slower car in TT group 2 ) Unfortunately I wasn't in an Alfa so I wasn't able to film the Alfas, but I am so excited to see many Alfas at track! we had like half a dozen Milanos, bunch GTVs and GTV6s, new 4Cs and Giulias! wow!
This first one is rather short, about a lap and a half.
From Sunday, 21 October 2018, Run Group Two, Third Session.
I'm scrubbing in fresh tires. Yellow flag is out as a blue BMW is off track with possible engine fire. He was there most of the session, so our lap times a bit slowed. Pay attention to the red Miata.
This is the full final and timed session for Run Group Two on Sunday, 21 Oct 2018
Nothing special happens, except every car passes me, some twice. I'm running very consistent lap times at 1:58
That was good enough to secure a Second Place victory in my car class (Class P)
Bob Hughes here with Andy Steben. He told me you now have a caddy!! I had to see it with my own eyes. Whaaat? Looks fast.
Hi Bob, hi Andy,
Go to YouTube and search on RKTROY ATS-V and my Cadillac track videos will show up.
Great to hear from you Bob. The Cadillac is our old folks car. Mary never really liked the Corvette (too low, too stiff, scraped on speed bumps and driveways, hard to get into and out of). She wanted a 4 door, I wanted something sporty with performance similar to the C5 Vette plus manual transmission. Very few sport sedans available with a manual - BMW M3, Chevy SS, Cadillac ATS-V. We test drove the Chevy - too big, and we were not interested in BMWs, so that left the Cadillac ATS-V (CTS-V is automatic only so it was ruled out). I sold the Vette last December through Corvette Forum to a guy from Michigan (he works at U of Mich, his son attends Mich State). He flew out with his son to drive the Vette home the Friday before his son's finals - drove like a madman towing the tire trailer I also sold with the Vette, and got home Sunday in time for dinner and in time for his son's final on Monday. Dad had to teach his son how to drive stick on the drive back to Michigan (Ypsilanti). He named the Vette "California Girl" and it is his summer car.
Check out this video my friend Steve made (you met him when we rode bicycles from the Rose Bowl to Griffith Park). I'm still working on my video.
