Chuckwalla Apr 5-6
Hi y'all,
I'm trying to plan my track year and I realize this is quite early for April.
However, I have serious concerns about the safety preparations for Chuckwalla. As many of you know, last year we had to watch in horror while a fellow driver's Porsche burned to the ground because there was no Fire & Rescue at the track, and it had to "wait" in flames for 45 minutes before the Indio Fire Dept. arrived. Apparently the host group had not contracted this service.
Please, announce *clearly* if the host group will have this absolutely necessary service present at the track this year.
This, among other factors, will make or break my commitment to that weekend. And I really want to go back!
Respectfully submitted

Registration is now open on Click here:

We have reached an agreement with ExtremeSpeed that fire and rescue services will be present at all track events that we participate in. So...

Thanks for the post, Jorge.

Ready for the next one, Terry.
I hope I can stay in front of you the whole race this time. I want to see more of my car in your video!

Another Miata
I just signed up. I noted Greg is going to be driving a Miata?
If Dan can come, and Phil can get away from that horrible job of driving exotics in Vegas, I figure we may have at least 8 Miatas in the race group. We could have our own "Miata Cup".

In fact there were 8 Miatas last year in the race group in Chuckwalla, but there are 2 more this year, at least: Terry M. and Greg N.
Red Miata [#716] I meant: # 176

The orange 831 Miata will be there. Better tires this time !

Told the boss I'm driving my Miata that weekend. He'll have to find someone else to drive his Ferraris and Mclarens.

I don't know, may be I'll volunteer to take your place.
Let's see: Miata vs. McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini.
No, you're right, I'll stick to my trusty Miata. :001_unsure:

I don't think so, Jorge. Something happened, and I took a whole two seconds off my lap times at Willow in January. You'd better put the nitrous bottle back in your car.

The only bottle I have in my trunk is (now) red, and I tell everybody it's my fire suppression system. I think it may have been blue originally.

That "something" you mention is called "cold air".

After much work, I was able to put 1 lousy lap up on YouTube. And it wasn't one of my best ones either. This was Sunday, 2nd practice of the morning, trying (unsuccessfully) to get my best time. I used my iPhone for video and Harry's Laptimer, with a Dual GPS little gadget. Not bad for a 19 dollar app.
