Fiat 500 to set AROSC Lap Record

I see we have a new Fiat 500 entered.
So, come on out and see a World Record Attempt for a lap of Willow Springs.

Well, since we have not had a new Fiat 500 at an Alfa Club event it will of course be a "world record".

See you at the track.

Track time with AROSC

Each run group gets 4 sessions of 25 - 35 minutes each day.
If you have an AMB transponder you are timed for every session during the weekend.
Your last run on Sunday is for "official time", that is those who are competing for Alfa Club points.

Weather report for Willow Springs

So we got a few phone calls asking "do you guys cancel if it rains?"
What kind of question is that? We usualy charge xtra for rain. But because of the special deal for this event, even if it does sprinkle just a little, we will not charge for the experience.
Anybody can drive a car on a dry track. So come on out. $99 a day!!!

As of Tues weather.com says it may only sprinkle on Sunday.

Hey Paul - A little rain is a lot better than tornados and frozen toilets!

I've signed up for open passing. Pete said he would sign up for point-by. If I crash on seven, I'll call Paul (from the car on the track with my cell phone) and ask him how such a thing could have happened.

Rain?!? Sounds like fun to me. I used to love my slip-n-slide when I was a kid.

Okay guys. If you were not at Willow Springs this weekend, you missed a really good weekend. Cool and a little breezy at times Saturday, and no rain. It started off gray, but as the day progressed, there was lots of blue sky. We were even treated to a double rainbow a couple of times over the hills to the northwest of the track. Hopefully somebody got a good picture of it. Apparently the track was great, as I was seeing some pretty darn good lap times. I wasn't driving, and wasn't there today, but I heard it was another good day.

So all of you who stayed in LA & OC in the rain, you could of had a nice day at the track...

I was there on Sunday. The weather was PERFECT. Cool (ok, cold) and breezy in the morning as well as the evening, but the afternoon was warm enough for T-shirts. Clear, sunny and dry it was.

Me and my brother were getting some great lap times in our 240Z. About five seconds faster than our last event at the Big Track. Best of all, I got a 1:43 to win class P. Yippy, my first first.

An interesting tid-bit. My racer gets better fuel mileage than my truck.

The truck used about 20 gallons to go 180 miles. (9 MPG)
The Datsun used about 25 gallons to go 300 track miles. (12 MPG)
The racer gets better mileage at WOT than my truck at highway speeds.

I think this means the racer needs a bigger motor.

Thanks

All,

Thank you for allowing a few of us in our Porsches run with you folks this past weekend at Willow. We had a great time. Hopefully we behaved ourselves (enough) and you will allow us back.

I was in the black Cayman S (#241) in the open passing TT group. The others in the run group were heads up and made even the high close rates manageable.

I supect we will be back.

Cheers,
