I heard Danny is still working, though I don't know at which shop.
There is Mike Mulligan on Melrose in Vista at Fred Zimmerman's old shop, though that's not real convenient unless you're in North County. (760) 945-5991

San Diego Alfa mechanic

Eric at Rathmann's Auto Works up near poway is excellent and reasonable, in addition to being very personable.

Hey everyone,

I am new to the San Diego area and looking for someone local to service my '78 Alfetta. Seems both Midnight Oil Motorsports and Rathman Auto are permanently closed.

Anyone else out there to besides those others listed here (and yes, I will check the others, too, tho' I was hoping for someone closer to the Carmel Valley area).

Two specialties I am interested in down in here in particular: speedometer/dash/electrical work, and upholstery. Any shops down here that can be recommended on those fronts?

Many thanks for any help--I need it!

Thanks Jim!

No one you can recommend for dealing with routine maintenance in this area?

Thanks again for the reply.

Left a message at Peter's Foreign Auto Repair on El Cajon Blvd.

Mike Mulligan in Vista is apparently not at the number listed here anymore...

...no word on the whereabouts of his Steam Shovel.
