I haven't seen anything yet myself, but in years past there use to be a race/tt in January and a school in February. Let's hope for the same this year.

Willow springs has posted the 2009 schedule on their website.

Looks like 3 dates for AROSC

Jan 24-25 Big Willow
Feb 28-March 1st Streets Of Willow (school)
Sept 12-13th Big Willow

I only see 1 date for streets of willow so it looks like only 1 school unless it's at another track.

Info is on AROSC website

Hey guys

You don't have to go all the way to the Willow Springs or other track websites--just go to the AROSC website:

I hope we can get at least 1 date at Buttonwillow in March/April/May.

BTW if we can get Thunderhill, that would be great! It has more runoff, just repaved and has covered parking in addition to the garages. It even has a barbecue area and children playground.

I had checked the club website before this post. Glad to see at least a few dates. Any news on Buttonwillow dates yet ?

It is starting to bother me that when I FINALLY get my car done that there are fewer track opportunities. I may have to venture into some of the "track-day" groups just to get the seat time.

I emailed with Bruce Colby over the weekend re BW dates, and he said the club had submitted a request but no response yet, as BW apparently works out the Cal Club dates first then other stuff around it.

For now, I'm shooting for the 1/24 WS TT, but would be much happier going only as far as BW. I did a BMW CCA school in my GTV last August at Thunderhill, and it was excellent other than how often I got passed by M3s and M5s.

Should be a good date, not too hot. Not enough daylight for an Enduro.

If you could arrange the track schedule just right, and start the Enduro by 3PM, you'ld have enough time.

Man, I hope that there are more Buttonwillow dates. Only 3 races in 2009 ? Does anyone with the club ever look at Fontana ??

I'd guess the phone calls are still going out to try to get more dates, joint events with other clubs, etc. But in today's environment we need to be cautious--it's hard to get the turnout we need, which is why we had to cancel 2 or 3 events this year.

The Fontana track is probably out of the question unless we join with a much bigger club. Even in better times we absolutely lost our shirts (as a club) when we ran there before.

One thing that has worked nicely in the past, and is very low cost, is to set up a coned track in the parking lot at Fontana. Lots of fun, and a closer commute for some people. But a race is probably not possible. The last we did that it poured rain and we had an absolute blast spashing through the puddles. Low stakes because speeds are low and there are no walls to run into.

Contact Bruce Colby with your suggestions. Or come to the Competition Board meeting this Sunday (contact Bruce for directions).

For club members, is the comp board meet an open meeting or for the comp board only? What city will it be in?

Billy

I think anyone is welcome. It's at Art Russell's house in Culver City, on Sunday. Call Bruce Colby first--760-727-7668.
