Lost Twin Duetto
Hello Alfa Owners of New England. I purchased my 67 Duetto about 3 years ago. Since then I read an old article from the 2009 issue of Hemmings Sport and Exotics. Great story about Gary Venable's 67 Duetto which he found out was a very rare color code Grigio Grafite (code AR716) with Amaranth Skay interior. In the article Gary mentions that he only knows of one other Duetto with the color combination that he thinks is in Colorado. To make a long story short, I purchased my Duetto from Boulder Colorado from the 2nd owner and it happens to be Grigio Grafite with Amaranth Skay interior. I just think it's a neat story and would be cool to somehow have the two rare Duettos side by side. Not sure how that's going to happen since I believe hes from Rhode Island and I'm from the SF Bay Area Ca. If anyone knows Gary can you please pass this on to him. I tried to private message him but this is only my 2nd post and I need 10 posts to have access the PM's.
Hi Ton -
Gary would like to get in touch with you but isn't an AlfaBBer. Drop me a note at [email protected] and we'll get you connected!
1750 in 716 with black interior
This photo tag says 2015 Alfa convention - don't know where that was.
A 1600 716 with black
I know it looks blue in this scan, but I think this is Graphite, but a 1750.
I once talked over PM here with a member on the east coast(?) with a Duetto in these same colors - could it be yours? I don't know if I still have those messages.
In this video taken by member Alfadromo, a graphite grey Duetto with burgundy seats shows up at 6:07 and 20:32.
Did you find any more information on this?
My favorite color combination for a Duetto/1750 spider. I saw one in Vermont once. If anyone knows of one for sale, I'd be interested to hear about it.
Mine too...but I'm extremely biased....
Just ran across the old Hemmings piece here -
2015 Convention was in Rhode Island. That photo is from the Federal Hill section (Little Italy) of Providence.
Thank you. I'm fairly certain that car in Post #3 is the one in the Hemmings article.
