wet carpet?

Strange, the carpet underneath the passenger seat in my 92 Spider Veloce is wet! The car has rarely been driven in the rain until recently, so this is the first time I noticed it. There are no apparent leaks anywhere. Is there some way water can enter undercarriage? Hate to ask a dumb question, but I am stumped. Anyone experience this? Thanks.

It is likely from the cowl drain tube. You can start with this and if you want to read more do a search on "cowl drain" in the spider forum!

Similar problem with my 72GTV. The only way I solved the problem was through a complete inspection of all entries from the firewall into the passenger comparment. I found missing and cracked grommets in the firewall, rotted fresh air ducts, split cowel drain hose and a 1/8" hole drilled into the cowel right above the passenger compartment. I was able to fix all of these problems with parts from either IAP or McMaster-Carr.
