Hey, why not? Should be interesting, and it gives me a date to shoot for.

Wow, I stay away from the BB for a while and Connecticut lights up. What happened? (But all you guys are up north, right?)

Litchfield and Torrington are NW corner, Redding is down between Danbury and Norwalk, South Windsor is North Central (just the locations of recent posters that come off the top of my head).

If you're down just East of New Haven (I saw you mention Killingworth and Guilford in the "I Spy" thread), then we're all within an hour or so of each other. Maybe too far for a spur of the moment visit for a cup of coffee, but certainly not too far for a group drive or tech session.

Hey, I don't know what's going on, but I'll enjoy it!

I am in Hamden, also near New Haven. I saw in the CT-AROC newsletter that one of their monthly dinner meetings will be down "this" way, Hamden itself as I recall, plus there is (or was by now?) an event centered around a trip on the Thimble Islands tour boat in Branford.

Yes, Clinton. Halfway between New Haven and New London, halfway between Boston and New York, yet not really near anything.

The last I heard was that August 19th there was to be a AROC-CT chapter event/meet up for an afternoon spent doing the Thimble Island tour.

Just got this email the other day:

Italian Cars to be Corralled at

Lime Rock on Labor Day – Monday, September 3rd

For the 14th year in a row, the Northeast Coast Chapter of Fiat Lancia Unlimited will sponsor the Italian Car Corral at the 25th annual Vintage Festival of Lime Rock Race Track in northwestern Connecticut on Monday, September 3, 2007.

The Italian Car Corral attracts 60 - 100 Italian cars of all marques. To participate in the Corral, Italian car owners must buy discounted tickets ($32.50) to the Vintage Festival through the Lime Rock Park using the special discount Affiliate ID # and password provided below. Your ticket to the Vintage Festival will be stamped “Italian Car Corral” which will admit you to the corral area for free parking. There is no extra charge for registering for the Corral. Italian car owners upon presentation of the discounted “Italian Car Corral” tickets will receive a goody bag valued at more than $35 which includes an event program, poster, an event cap and a Lime Rock 50th anniversary pin. Best of all, the owners of Italian cars who purchase tickets using the discount codes will be admitted on the track for a couple parade laps to wow the crowd at Lime Rock.

While most of the Italian cars participating in the corral hail from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, for the past four years, the long distance entry has come from Joe Bracca of Nova Scotia.. Joe has driven to the Italian Car corral in a Fiat 124 Coupe and a Lancia Delta Integral, which is very rare in the States.

To obtain your tickets on-line, go to the Lime Rock web site:

http://www.limerock.com/store/login.php?m=login_extra

Enter the following codes:

Affiliate ID# 252

Password IT2007 (IN UPPERCASE LETTERS)

The Monday ticket is $32.50 and you can either have your ticket mailed to you or you can print your ticket from home. Alternatively, for an extra fee, you can have your ticket Fed Ex’d to you.

It is critically important that you purchase your tickets through Lime Rock using these codes. We must sell at least 25 tickets in order to qualify to have a corral area for Italian cars. The Track will keep me informed of or progress in ticket sales. The parade laps on the track are limited to a number of car corrals, so we must be among the first to meet the threshold of selling 25 tickets. Deadlines: August 20th for mailed tickets and

August 24th for tickets printed from home.

If you do not have access to the internet, you can buy your Italian Car Corral discounted tickets to the Vintage Festival by calling the track group sales office at 800-435-5000 ext 306 and using the codes above.

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to plan out any sort of drive for us.

I do plan on going to this show, though. Maybe we can at least meet somewhere along the way and caravan to the event.
