AONE autocross Sunday, June 17th (Fathers Day)

To any and all who may find themselves in the New England area this coming Saturday, AONE is officially resuming autocrossing! Whoo hoo!

And we're hosting the first one on Fathers Day, so you won't have to apologize to *anybody* when you head out of the house to go off and do what you *really* want to do!

The autocross will be held at Nashoba Ski Resort, in Westford, MA.

For more details on the autocross, check out www.velocissima.com. For directions to Nashoba, see www.skinashoba.com.

Hope to see many of you on Sunday!

Hello Brian,

We're planning to attend on Sunday. Didn't find a sign-up sheet at the AutoX website. Ok to just show up?

Just show up! We're too disorganized to try to keep track of how many to expect!

Would really be interested if it were closer to New York. Boston is a three hour drive. Sounds like it will really be fun. Maybe you can have one in Central Mass or Western Mass some time.

Find us a site!

Seriously, finding a suitable site is our biggest challenge right now. If anybody on the list wants to do some hunting, we'd be more than happy to run a few in other areas!

Help!!

Hey, the Nashoba Ski Area is considered by many to be Central Mass! It's just off I-495 -- check a map. Come one, come all!!!

Hi Brian,

A great idea!... many Alfa owners have a degree of competitiveness but, for any number of reasons, don't participate in track events. Conducting an AROC chapter autocross is a great way to provide another activity for members. There are always SCCA events to run but it's more fun to run under the AROC rules (which are more accomodating to Alfas). I wish there was a chapter like AONE in my area...

Regarding autocross sites, these are a challenge to locate where ever one is located. Our local SCCA Region pays $500 per day, but I have heard of areas where the site rental is much higher. You might want to consider some local auto-related businesses for sponsors. We do this, and promote them by adding their logos to printed course maps. I have a quick technique for making such maps. PM me if you're interested.

Plans are still up in the air, and the 164 may be out of commission. The Dino? Hmmmm. The Buick?!?!?! yikes!

Actually anything would suffice! Last one we went to a kid brought his go-kart! Basically anything with four wheels and an engine, doesn't have to be an Alfa. Also this isn't a highly competitive event, we are just there to have fun and to learn how to run an Autocross.

Personally I need to learn how to participate in an AutoX without getting lost on the first run or two . I have high hopes for this one as I'm helping design the layout!

Well not quite *anything* - it does have to be safe! We will be performing tech inspection!

Otherwise, as Kevin says, (almost) anything is welcome!

This is a short movie of what ours will be very similar too (it's 13.1MB so it might take a little while to download):

Hi Brian:

As luck would have it. I have a free Sunday and an Alfa, need I say more.

See you there.

I'd rather you had a Sunday and a free Alfa, but we'll take what we can get.

Is this Mr. Maldari? Recent purchaser of a certain Pratt-mobile?

Welcome back!

Uh Dave, That's DOWNTOWN BOSTON!
Worcester, maybe, is central MA. To folks in Pittsfield, Northampton is central MA.
