Alfa 2.9 and Phil Hill

Phil Hill in a 2.9. It is really an old advertisement but you can't pass up Phil in a video can you?

What a great Alfa, and a fantastic driver. I was lucky enough to know Phill, what a gentleman. And a fantastic driver.

I remember those, wish I had purchased some. I was lucky enough to do a photo story of him at Hill and Vahn restoration in Santa Monica back in 1979 for an art center project I was doing. He was very knowledgeable and intense and focused. I would see him from time to time up at Monterey car week and he was always very friendly and seem to remember who I was.
In 2005 when I was in the FERRARI club, I won a raffle to have Phile drive my Euro 308 for 30 minutes. What a fantastic 30 minutes it was, I peppered him throughout the whole entire time about his views on formula 1 racing Ferrari and the collector car market. He and Dan Gurney, who I also meet a few times. Were one of a kind Proto types of Southern California racing heroes who’s like we will probably never see again.
