David Edgington

David Edgington, founder of EB Spares has died.

For those unfortunate enough not to have dealt with him or met him, David was an "old school" English gentleman.

He was parts manager for Rob Walker's Alfa Dealership in the 1960s (yes, THAT Rob Walker) and started up an aftermarket Alfa parts business after realising that Alfa's parts operation was largely useless (plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose).

All of us who own old Alfas and especially those of us who are lucky enough to work in the "old Alfa" business owe David a massive debt for what he did. He set the blueprint for what we do now.

Our thoughts go out to his family and especially Kevin and our friends at EB Spares who knew him better than we did and who will find the loss of David hits very hard.

Jim Spackman and all at Alfaholics.

Nicely put Jim. David made owning a classic Alfa in the UK affordable back in the 80s, a great loss.

Not just "affordable", more like "possible".

I just read this on their website, with a nice little tribute there.

I hate to lose these kinds of guys.
