This is a clean 74 wheel with the usual Personal/Alfa Romeo imprints and a '74 date code. It is original to my 74 Spider, although I swapped the hub that came on a cleaner replacement for the original one. The present hub (as pictured) is splined; keyed hubs may be easily sourced.
The wheel is structurally intact and the back surface is mostly clean. There are several areas of delamination on the front as pictured. It would make a good candidate for a resto/restore, or a fine daily driver.
Thanks! It's a great learning experience. Definitely worth doing bringing something old back to life. Good luck- feel free to ask questions if you get stuck, I made a few mistakes looking back.
Hello Mark. I am currently trying to adapt a personal steering wheel for use on my 67 duetto. It seems I will be needing a keyed hub. I saw your ad for a steering wheel in which you indicated that keyed hubs were easily sourced. Can you suggest a source? Greatly appreciated....
Perhaps drilling out the hub from a trashed wheel? I'll have a look in my storage tomorrow to see if that's feasible.
