Shankle Sure Start

I've just about given up trying to get my TA to work properly. Does anyone have a Shankle Sure Start for sale

With a little more searching, I've found AR Ricambi and ordered one from them 1-800-225-2532 if you need one

How much was it form them? Does it come with the knob or just for connection to the hand throttle? thanks.

Thank you. If possible, can you post a photo of what you received? I bought a previously owned one with no knob and I'd love to see what the difference is.

If the TA is operating properly, and it is installed and adjusted properly (screw under pintle, linkage), you must have a pump problem.

I know for certain it's the TA. It does not reach the proper pin distance at 185 degrees and pinching the bulb has already been done. Just a tired TA

Same thing happened to me last year having to pass Calif. smog. The TA was shot. Was going replace with a sure start but decided to go ahead and just install a new (re built) TA. Very expensive and they need your core in exchange. Very easy installation with detailed instructions. My 76 Alfetta GT never ran better....

Time to call Wes Ingram and purchase a reman TA. IMO, a much better decision than the SSS.

Having had 2 TAs and Sure Start, I would never go back to a TA.

Don't knock it til you've tried it.

It's Giuseppe's giubos, not Guido's guibos, on my 78 Alfas

I have tried it. I have installed several SSSs in the 70's and 80's and many many more rebuilt TAs. A properly operating Spica injection pump with a properly operating TA works like a dream come true. Perhaps with a worn-out pump or an improperly tuned pump, a SSS would work better. To each his own. Cheers!

My pump works great now without a TA that has a mind of its own.

Not to mention the price difference!!!
