Hi all

I think this may throw a little light on things....

From the Giulia Sprint GT/GTV/GTA/GTC spare parts catalogue dated 12/67.For additional info the same part number applies to Giulia Supers from #862001gs and 722501gd. Part numbers included for clarity....

Richard

Yay, thank you. And a reminder I was utterly wrong re the number of studs affixing to the body.

gt sidemarkers

I also have 2 of these altissimo ones.
They are slightly bigger compared to the original Giulia Gt Carello ones.

Tom, offhand, without knowing dimensions*1, those look like the rectangular lenses used both under the GT/V bezel and without a bezel on the ~71-74 Unificata Supers and TI's. This if the above post by "richards" above is correct that the lens unit is the same*2. The curved lens combo was only used on Biscione S-trimmed Supers from ~69-71.

*` - I mention this because some earlier 2000/2600 models used a variant of these that were bigger and shaped difrerently. I think someone posted some parts pages on these above.

*2 - I bought a set of NOS rectangular-holed GT/V bezels for my rectangular-lensed Super (like your pics) and felt that the bezel fouled with the lens's stainless steel base. I was hesitant to drill the holes if it did not fit and aborted. I can double check this.

These were from resto buy PO, agreed not willing to drill holes I will remove one and get some dimensions for the mounting point as well as L/W/D of the lens.

There should have been 4 holes originally. They all had chrome-bezeled lights. Two may have been welded up.

yes there are 2 and allows for the mounting of the lens, I am beginning to think these should be fitted to a 2600.

So the rectangular side marker lights on my 72 Super are 3 1/4 x 3/4" on the stainless frame, not including the black rubber backing gasket. CUrrently there is no bezel mounted. The hole in the bezel is about 3 1/8" x 9/16". The mounting studs for the bezel are about 3 9/16". I could not get at the lens studs (mounted).

BTW, These are neither Altissimo nor Carello, which are the typical suppliers for such things. They are "Leart" with some other number stamping. Don't know if those were a 3rd period-manufacturer or a new reproduction. The bezels I have for a GT/V square lens are Carello PN 17.534.580

so, I am missing the trim pieces ... I will look under the fender wells to see if I can find a weld, the car is all original panels with the obvious factory welds. PO redid the brightwork, why wouldn't they reinstall the correct lens, (rhetorical). Bastardos..!!!! at least I know what to do now.

Thankyou Anfanuts and all the others who supplied drawings and pics...

It's possible that some later Juniors used the trim-less side markers?? Dunno. I only know Sprint GT's and GTV's.

I might have to peruse those curved-lens Altissimos above as they are correct fora Biscione Super. I just wanted to add some bling.

BTW< Repro bezels are sold on the Euro parts sites. I bought some for a 67 GTV.
