Dear, thanks for your suggestion, I fully agree and maybe I would be able to replicate throughout some suppliers, it could be enough to have some figures about lenght and radius as well for terminal caps. Maybe some more photos if you have a piece available or I would like to buy as well a damaged one just only to replicate. Is it a stainless pipe as well?
Thanks
Many thanks for your support , the rear bumpers on my car have the holes for the bar while, time ago, I was able to find on ebay the front one that is in stainless steel , so I hope to be able to complete this assembly . This is really a nice community with a lot of passion and info for our Alfa ! Thanks Osso
So, I tried my best to draw the arc using some string and a pencil. I think this is very close. I think the arc radius is 184cm. I will get the inside and outside lengths, next. I realize my method is quite crude, but it is the only way that I could see to get the data.
Dear , many thanks, I believe radius will be in accordance with the rear hood as well, I will do some measures and let you know. I will check for a stainless pipe as well , if available I will prefer it to have a similar brightness for polished parts, thanks
I don't believe Alfa supplied any of these bars as original equipment. As I remember, they were made by AAMCO as an accessory and often installed by dealers as an additional option. The front center piece was original equipment.

The cars left Italy with them installed. The overriders have nicely punched holes for the mounting of the bumper bar. See the attachment from the part manual.
The bumper bar your thinking of was made by AMCO and is aftermarket.
That's so interesting. I'm still not convinced. The parts image shows just one bar. Parts images are pretty accurate. I stand corrected that there is an Alfa rear center bar, but as shown, I have never seen it. As a part number starting with 10503, it must have been available on the 1600 Spider. I have never seen one that I can remember on either S1 model. Nor do I remember the illustrated license plate backing plate on S1 spiders. I don't think the upper crimp of the body mounted plate holder would allow such a plate, but that's conjecture. Maybe these items were regionally ordered. Maybe my memory is just bad.
The AMCO bar looks like the bar on the ivory spider.

This was only found on the US spec 1750s. Yes, there is only one bar. It's a genuine Alfa part.
The picture of my white Spider has the Amco bumper bars and the correct license plate backing. Once again, this is a US spec car and it was very different from what every one else got.
Guess I'm outnumbered and probably wrong, but:
A quick mental review of early 911s and early 70s Camaros makes me wonder if the Feds were bumper conscious at that time. I thought the bumper crash test standards started in 1974. There was no rear center bar on 911s up to 1974. There were some split front bumper Camaros in 1970 and maybe 1971, with no grille guard. Probably true for some other makes too.
Also, why would Amco make and try to sell a center bar if the factory already supplied one? They sold a bunch.
I wish my memory was better.
That is a very nice NOS part. I have a very nice used one on my car. Most of the used ones have some damage. I have a spare that we professionally repaired. There are ten hours of labor in it.
No argument on the front guard; just not sure if it was there because of a federal mandate.
I've fooled with roundtails since 1970. I think the picture of an obviously factory made slot in a rear overrider is the first time I've ever seen one. I have a bunch of used overriders in my shed; some have two holes drilled (crudely) for what I've always believed to be the Amco bar. No slots. No argument that Alfa provided such a bar, but was it universal on a 1969, USA S1?
Thanks Osso , at your first convenience it could be nice if you could give me some details of the two terminals of the bar to cover nuts, I believe outer diameter and lenght , thanks again
Inside length is about 56cm and the outside is about 56.5cm. I don't think you need to be very concerned about getting the "length" exact. The adjustment screw is what makes up for the slop. The adjustment screw is an M8X1.25 with a hex head on it.
Perfect Osso , super, everything is clear , I abuse of your patience asking you some more details of items 105.03.59.72.00/11 and 12 than I believe I have everything fixed to start rebuilding missed bar , I believe it will take me some time but I will show you something , I will post pictures if nice and anycase for comments . Many thanks
I have the correct rear center bar and the accompanying overriders, the left one with the slot for the center bar's tab, the right one with the hole for the set bolt. The parts came on my 1967 Duetto when I purchased it in 2012. I removed the center bar on purchase, but only last month replaced the overriders when I secured the correct ones for my car.
The center bar is in very nice condition with no dents or important scratches so no need to replate unless the receiving vehicle is intended as a concours competitor. A small piece of the set bolt can be heard inside the bar. I don't know where the set bolt is now.
Both overriders have the original rubber inserts in good condition. The left overrider is in excellent condition in high polish without dents or abrasions. The right overrider has a small dent under and just to the right of the rubber insert. I imagine it would be readily repaired.
I haven't figured out a fair price yet.
I'll post photos of the pieces tomorrow on this thread. Fadoza, if you haven't already fabricated a center bar, let me know via PM if you might be interested.
I would be interested in purchasing a copy of the original rear bar set up. I have the original overriders with the hole and rectangular opening.
