Any luck with this, yet?

I had one straightened a few years ago. If one can be straightened, one can be fabricated. It's simple 1" tubing.

Dear, thanks for your suggestion, I fully agree and maybe I would be able to replicate throughout some suppliers, it could be enough to have some figures about lenght and radius as well for terminal caps. Maybe some more photos if you have a piece available or I would like to buy as well a damaged one just only to replicate. Is it a stainless pipe as well?
Thanks

I am sorry, I do not have one to sell. They are very rare.

They are made of steel pipe, then are chrome plated. The diameter of the pipe is 25mm. I will see what I can do to figure out the radius.

Does your car have to right bumper parts for the nerf bar? Each side has a special hole in it for the bar. I will get some pictures for you soon.

So, I tried my best to draw the arc using some string and a pencil. I think this is very close. I think the arc radius is 184cm. I will get the inside and outside lengths, next. I realize my method is quite crude, but it is the only way that I could see to get the data.

My Geometry days are long behind me. :-)

Just trace out the bar on a sheet of paper or poster board. The metal shop should be able to figure it from there.

1969 1750 Spider Veloce w/dual webers, 1969 1750 Berlina, 1971 1750 Spider Veloce w/ dual webers, 1985 Spider Veloce 23,000 orig. miles, {Two} 1986 Spider Veloces, 1987 Spider Veloce bought new, 1988 Quadrifoglio, 1991 164S, Plus several more. I think they are breeding.

Dear , many thanks, I believe radius will be in accordance with the rear hood as well, I will do some measures and let you know. I will check for a stainless pipe as well , if available I will prefer it to have a similar brightness for polished parts, thanks

Center Bar

I don't believe Alfa supplied any of these bars as original equipment. As I remember, they were made by AAMCO as an accessory and often installed by dealers as an additional option. The front center piece was original equipment.

The cars left Italy with them installed. The overriders have nicely punched holes for the mounting of the bumper bar. See the attachment from the part manual.

The bumper bar your thinking of was made by AMCO and is aftermarket.

center bar(s)

That's so interesting. I'm still not convinced. The parts image shows just one bar. Parts images are pretty accurate. I stand corrected that there is an Alfa rear center bar, but as shown, I have never seen it. As a part number starting with 10503, it must have been available on the 1600 Spider. I have never seen one that I can remember on either S1 model. Nor do I remember the illustrated license plate backing plate on S1 spiders. I don't think the upper crimp of the body mounted plate holder would allow such a plate, but that's conjecture. Maybe these items were regionally ordered. Maybe my memory is just bad.
The AMCO bar looks like the bar on the ivory spider.

This was only found on the US spec 1750s. Yes, there is only one bar. It's a genuine Alfa part.

The picture of my white Spider has the Amco bumper bars and the correct license plate backing. Once again, this is a US spec car and it was very different from what every one else got.

The grill guard and rear bar were required by the Fed's. Just like the Kammtails had the black rubber grill guard when new.

1969 1750 Spider Veloce w/dual webers, 1969 1750 Berlina, 1971 1750 Spider Veloce w/ dual webers, 1985 Spider Veloce 23,000 orig. miles, {Two} 1986 Spider Veloces, 1987 Spider Veloce bought new, 1988 Quadrifoglio, 1991 164S, Plus several more. I think they are breeding.

center bar(s)

Guess I'm outnumbered and probably wrong, but:
A quick mental review of early 911s and early 70s Camaros makes me wonder if the Feds were bumper conscious at that time. I thought the bumper crash test standards started in 1974. There was no rear center bar on 911s up to 1974. There were some split front bumper Camaros in 1970 and maybe 1971, with no grille guard. Probably true for some other makes too.
Also, why would Amco make and try to sell a center bar if the factory already supplied one? They sold a bunch.
I wish my memory was better.
