I brought up the issue of Alfa Romeo Montreal "awareness" with Cindy Banzer, President of AROC, and the monthly magazine. As a long-time owner and driver of a Montreal, I must say that there are a lot of folks who are quite un-aware of the model and therefore form some conclusions, not always based on fact.
Cindy, herself a past owner of a Green Montreal, has promised to help reflect an added content with respect to the Montreal in the AROC publications, especially as this is the 50th anniversary of it's introduction at the 1967 Expo in Montreal.
For my part, I am quite amazed that the parent company has either not recognized, nor seen fit to place the Montreal in a place where it rightly belongs. I think that this may be in fact that the current crop of PR
people at FCA are way too new to really understand what Alfa Romeo stands for. It is more than a "105 years of racing history". It is about the cars that enabled Alfa Romeo to race, for 105 years - all of them. Nobody is going to help us here. It is up to us as owners, drivers, people who appreciate the cars, to also promote them. Regardless to where the current market prices are right now, it is based on a recognition of both the marque and the model.
Right now, I cannot tell you how many times I have heard the term ".. this is the first time I've seen a Montreal, must be Alfa's best kept secret"!!! This is especially true in North America where the car was never introduced.
