When the right one finds you, then you will not have that problem. Speaking of the right one; I wonder what happened to Scott M's car that sold for 176K a couple years ago and then resold to a dealer? Anyone here pick up this nice red ride from the dealer?

I came to realize years ago that the fun in life was in the doing, and not in spectating. So often, the difference in doing and watching is a relatively small amount of money. Years down the road, when my bones and eyes won't let me set my hair on fire, and fly along upside down at 250mph, will I regret most having spent the $10k extra to enter, or the lost opportunity of building precious memories?

Thank goodness for modern digital cameras, as they'll keep me relatively honest in retelling the stories. Not much of a story describing how much money still sits in the bank, doing nothing.

I like the white Group 4 Montreal very much. It looks like a well done race car that could be street legal. I doubt that you could duplicate it for the money they are asking...ear plugs required!

Thanks,
Mark

A Monti that I worked on is on ebay right now, relisted. It is in New Jersey.
Great car, I did a bunch of work to it, great driver, body is very solid.
I had the pleasure of driving it a couple hundred miles and it was a blast.
Opinions of the car anyone?
If the there were justice on ebay, it would get $70-80K, in my opinion.

The Black Montreal sold last year (?) for $77,000. Up again on BAT.
The Gold car was I think bought by Mike Kearns who has been on our site.

The gold car looks like a good clean example of a Montreal. The engine compartment and interior are both very tidy as is the underside. Gold is not my favorite color but it looks good on this car. I see someone modified the NACA duct, opening it up so that water from rain or a wash will fall on the fuel injection pump and lines, causing them to corrode.

Well the Black car (AR1425545) as mentioned sold for $68,000. Seems like prices have cooled in the last 12 months. I have no doubt they will rise again soon judging by the prices I am seeing for early 105 spiders, coupes and sedans at the moment.

I brought up the issue of Alfa Romeo Montreal "awareness" with Cindy Banzer, President of AROC, and the monthly magazine. As a long-time owner and driver of a Montreal, I must say that there are a lot of folks who are quite un-aware of the model and therefore form some conclusions, not always based on fact.
Cindy, herself a past owner of a Green Montreal, has promised to help reflect an added content with respect to the Montreal in the AROC publications, especially as this is the 50th anniversary of it's introduction at the 1967 Expo in Montreal.
For my part, I am quite amazed that the parent company has either not recognized, nor seen fit to place the Montreal in a place where it rightly belongs. I think that this may be in fact that the current crop of PR people at FCA are way too new to really understand what Alfa Romeo stands for. It is more than a "105 years of racing history". It is about the cars that enabled Alfa Romeo to race, for 105 years - all of them. Nobody is going to help us here. It is up to us as owners, drivers, people who appreciate the cars, to also promote them. Regardless to where the current market prices are right now, it is based on a recognition of both the marque and the model.
Right now, I cannot tell you how many times I have heard the term ".. this is the first time I've seen a Montreal, must be Alfa's best kept secret"!!! This is especially true in North America where the car was never introduced.

The red Montreal looks better that most 'barn finds' but it is still a total project and will require a lot of time and energy to get it sorted.
