24v 3 liter GTV6 - 1984

Not mine, no affiliation but a notable GTV6. 3.0 conversions are rare enough, but 24 valve conversions are more so due to the many extra steps involved.

Too bad you can't get an idea of the condition of the rest of the car from the photos. The engine bay painted black does not inspire confidence.

What are the blue and yellow hoses on the driver's side inner fender in the 7th photo (where the washer fluid bottle would normally be)? Remote oil filter?

I am unconvinced that the complexity of the 24V is worth the extra power. You can get 250+ HP from a 3L 12V road motor without removing the heads or the runners.

If I was going to do an engine change/conversion to a 75/GTV6 you might as well go the whole hog and go 24v ... probably an easier engine to find in NZ as 156s are not rare, although only 2.5 ltrs.

And the toothed cambelt doesn't randomly jump teeth ...

The 3 liter 24 valve engine in the 164LS here in the USA market developed 210 bhp.

EDIT: After seeing Zinhead's info here, I should add the Quadrifoglio motor was rated at 230 bhp. I quoted the LS power output, like the one we owned.

Between 230 and 250 HP based on trim.

How much over $10.00 do you think the conversion was?
