Call me a purist but I think if I decided to go $200K on the Alfa, I just dig a little deeper for a few more Mayonnaise jars and go for this. First thing I'd do is drop it off at the tuner so he can extract some more bhp (or umph).

1973 GTV - bought 3/06, intend to keep forever
1969 GTV, #AR1530021 - sold 10/72, guess didn't intend to keep forever
Current project: '69 Corvette bought in '73, DD '73 - '80, in storage 1989-2002, now apart

Perhaps, but to me it's a bit cold compared to the Alfa. IMHO.

By the time the car actually is available, it will be 5 years old and to me, a "who cares" item...

Oh, that's just Monika Zarwet. She's an Alfista who is married to some dairy farmer from Wisconsin. That SS is her daily driver.

The only way i can afford an 8c is buying the ruins of the crashed dot car and restoring it...

I must admit to being singularly unimpressed when I saw the 8C at Meadowbrook, during the AROC convention. Alfa's, such as the egg-shaped Sprint Zagato or the sleek Tubularo Zagato (TZ1) exude a certain sporting excitement, not generated by the 8C.

The interior was to say the least, Japanese-jukebox, seemingly based on work done by the Ford Styling Studio on the Mustang and Fusion dashboards.

Disappointed, I was, hopeful I still am, for the rest of the Alfa line.

Yes, I must concur...alas, I must admit too that 8C is quite gaudy and ostentatious. Not sporting at all, not as much as the SS above. The 8C is just another wannabe unfortunately...lackluster, derivative, singularly un-inspired.
