It's come time to say goodbye to my beloved 1995 164LS

I've listed it on BaT and in the Classifieds here.

I have to thank everyone on this Forum and prior forum for almost 20 years of 4 164's. Your help and advise were invaluable and you were a part of my daily routine. Thanks to Steve, Bob, Del, Jason, and those I've met at the Conventions; Jeff, Frank, Alex, John, Enrico and so many others I've left out. I know I'll still be checking the Forum everyday. Thank you!

Hi Cory. It was great meeting you and your wife at the convention. I completely understand and I hope you get decent value for such a well maintained car.

Good luck and fare thee well.

Are those stock usa headlights?

Wondering if those are DOT or Euro headlight conversion? Again, beautiful machine...

Euro Bosch H1 4 bulb projectors 164 Series Two Euro Facelift headlights. I have them on all my 164s. Not standard on USA spec 164 models. Facelift Bosch headlights started with Euro chassis 6307275.

Steve, doth thou recall where you purchased them? Did you have to finagle the headlight harness at all? How would you estimate the improvement?

I moved to Euros on my 87 Verde and it took my headlights from lacking to normal.

Thanks,

Rob from New Hampshire. (Robnh)

I got mine various places as ALFA stands for Always Looking For Another so when something I see come up i go for it. Last set came from a guy in CA. One set came from NY don't remember where I got the other set.

I have posted how to wire them up here on BB.

Much better lights than the Carellos that came on our USA spec 164s.

I just put this set on my 93L last month.

I got my two sets on eBay, they show up every once in awhile. For the connections I just cut the leads in the socket to the bulb of the original headlights and soldered wires to them which I then spliced into the Euro headlights. You can also use the parking light if you just put a thicker o-ring on it. That way you don't have to do any alterations to the chassis wiring harnesses or plugs.

I was able to build custom wiring harnesses for mine that didn't require cutting and soldering. You do have to find a source for the necessary Bosch connectors and parts, and assemble the connectors yourself but it wasn't too difficult. I wish I had saved my shopping list and instructions
