Spring Options

It sounds like the B&G lowering springs are NLA? Are there any other options for sport lowering springs for the 164? Maybe these from H&R.

H&R springs Alfa Romeo 164 Typ 164 35-40mm - H+R-Springs (923713) - tuning - alloy wheels - kw coilovers - spacers - tyres

Any other legitimate options out there?

The H&R's or Eibach's (which I can't find) are probably the best bet if you want true quality. There are B&G and some off brand on ebay which I'm keen to try due to their low price. My car has 220,000 miles on it and isn't a perfect example so there's no need for H&R's on it. Quality probably wouldn't be much different between the off-brand and B&G's, due to them both having fixed spring rates.

G&M springs lower by a les aggressive 25mm. I have a set I have never fitted. The idea was to fit them with the stock shocks but they are totally gone so I am on my way to renewing with Koni and using the Zender(Eibach) springs which are on there. Will probably sell them on if I don't use them but I want to make sure I don't need them first.

Past glories: Sud ti, Alfetta GTV, GTV6, 33 ti, 33 ie, 164 V6, 164 V6, GTV TS, 156 TS, Alfa 159 2.4 Q-Tronic JTDm

Now: 164 V6 24v Zender Alfa Sport (QV Mod)

There are some horror stories about that retailer on VWVortex.com so I might avoid them, but good to know that there are alternatives out there, assuming a source can be found.

Up and orderable. Since I am working on KONI alternative, I will keep these springs coming until they decide to discontinue.

Thanks Jason, my springs arrived last night. Today I'm dropping off a set of KONIs to have them run on a shock dyno. I'll post the results when they're done for those who might be interested.
