Your rear shoes or my rear pads? Shoes go with brake drums as I remember and pads go with brake rotors (disks/discs).

Semantics!

Changed the engine aesthetics a bit. Red wasn't what I wanted, so I changed to black. I need to decide if I'm going to polish the script and ribs on the coil cover. I'll let the paint settle first.

Since my LS is the light metallic champagne color, I painted the engine ignition front cover and rear plenum a medium dark metallic cast iron color, a matching dark version of the body, a nice contrast, with sanded matte aluminum finish lettering and ribs. Looks kind of svelte IMHO, lol.

Learning Korean mechanics

Well, only Alfa related yesterday was to back S out of garage and safely light off propane heater.

Sara's BF's Genesis 2.0T coupe in for a stretched timing chain change.

Installed new upgrade double link and new spring loaded oil fed tensioner.

This morning we do compression test to be sure the valves are good after cam(s) jumped time.

Once tensioner extends ratchet latch prevents retraction unless you can get lock screw in top of tensioner body to back off which I couldn't. Glad I had ordered new tensioner.

We have to test oil jet with air pressure this morning as closest one we found is in Birmingham, AL and won't be here before Wednesday.

Oil jet (removed now from picture) squirts oil on lower chain gears on crankshaft. Stretched chain had ground half way through tube.

Hyundai 2.0L oil jet and BA F4 Delta 1970-71 timeframe

Here is pix of gouged oil jet tube no dealer has in stock, ugh!

Not quite worn through.

Also F-4 Phantom Delta "wedge" in finger tip formation. The PH2 photomate Ron, we had on the team then, took some amazing pics with his Navy issue Nikon! The team pilots were pretty good, too. Gives new meaning to "high and tight".

Six Phantom taxi out tight, too. We were so lucky never FOD'ed an J-79 engine.

Four planes "welded together".

Ron now posting some of his 70-72 time frame BA photos on our BAA FB pages.

Our Skipper Harley Hall was shot down (lost) over Nam last day of the war Jan 23, 1973. Still tears me up.

Today I checked the GT over, ready for my wife and I to take it on a road trip to Castlemaine in Victoria in two days time. It is about a seven hour drive from Adelaide and we will be away for six days. I used my Christmas gift card from my dad to buy a 150 psi/35 litres per minute, 12 volt portable air compressor to keep in the car in case I need to use the spare wheel. Normally the GTs don't have a full sized spare, but the original owner put one in, which is a good thing in my opinion. The only trouble is that it is a slightly tight fit and I have to let the air out of the tyre to get it in properly. I have always meant to get a compressor in case the worst happens and I have flat, but only just got round to it today. I am not sure whether my car, (being an early one), originally had a space saver wheel in it or not, but I know the later ones have no spare at all - just a can of foam sealant and a little compressor of some sort. With our long distances between towns in the country, that would be a serious problem if your tyre got shredded or slashed. There seems to be a lot of cars with no spare these days, which might be fine if you are in a city, or a country in which you are never far from civilisation, but not in a hot, sparsely populated country like Australia. It would be no fun at all being stuck on the side of the road in 40 degrees Celsius, with no phone signal and a shredded tyre.

random randomness. Not Alfa related but what the heck. Spent some time stateside this month to close '16 out. Mr Tripp. Don't ask me as I have no earthly idea. We bonded. He's an Alfa male I hope. Mr Tripp, Noah and Noah's "pops". Daughters joint. Our Focus rental POS. Dau has a Hyundai as well. Son has 2 of them. Missile system I used to crew back in the day. One of my fav's from the AF Museum, ME 262.

Good stuff oz, it would suck to have the wrong size lug nut removal device. You can ask me how I know but I can always not reply. Hope u have a wonderful trip. Your pics are always nice too!

I hope everyone has a wonderful new years. '17 should be eventful. I don't get the idea that '16 sucked. 1665 sucked in that millions got plague and died. We move on. Blessing to all. Ciao, Chris

Great photos Chris! The kid is very cute. Even though the cars are pretty ordinary, the pic of the house in the snow looks Christmas card perfect. We have an original ME 262 in the war memorial in Canberra, that was captured during the war. They also have one of those weird and lethal to the pilots, rocket powered things the Nazis built.

I will make sure to post photos of our holiday.

It has turned over to 2017 here 40 minutes ago, so Happy New Year Chris and all the wonderful BB people! My wife and I spent it watching the spectacular Sydney Harbour fireworks on our 4K TV.

Well had Alfa related this morning as power antenna on BB1 retracted on daughter last night when she got home but internal motor keep grinding away. So she had to disconnect battery to get it to stop.

She brought car over this morning and took Jeep GC to work.

I installed new spare man-u-well antenna this morning after removing battery, tray and L/H trunk carpet.

Good thing I guess as RWDefroster 30A fuse holder metal but fuse not blown. Install 25A fuse. Wish RWDefroster system had a timer shutoff on it. Will have to remind daughter to push off DEF button when rear window clears. I guess I could have gone down to 20A fuse.
