Zf Auto Trans

I'm wondering if a ZF auto trans type 3HP-22 (was fit on alfas after 1977) can be fit to an already auto BERLINA 2000 ,years 1971-1975, replacing the old ZF auto unit type 3HP-12, even with some side mods .
