tunnel case trans differences

In pulling out the column shift tunnel trans from my 56 Berlina over the weekend, I can report these differences re tunnel transes on my garage floor, which suprised me:

Column shift (SN 1876) 1956 Berlina
* Oil fill on R
* .9" ouput shaft ball
* 10mm output yoke studs

Floor shift (SN 017 D)
* Oil fill on R
* .9" output shaft ball
* 12mm output yoke studs

Floor shft (SN D 3244) allegedly from a 1958 Sprint
* Oil fill on L
* .719" output shaft ball
* 12mm output yoke studs

Pictures shows the sibs.

OK... a slight hi-jack of an old thread here, but the subject line matches my questions exactly and I turned up this original thread while searching the BB for an answer. I found several good threads about tunnel case transmissions, including the thread about tunnel case 5 speeds, as well as some other interesting info, but I have not found anyone discussing this:

As I've been reading about the tunnel case 4 speeds, the picture of what's what has only gotten fuzzier. At first I thought the Normale and the Veloce used the same tunnel transmission. But, the Giulietta parts book (from Cardisc) shows different numbers for most of the internals: 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears, plus main shaft, lay shaft, and a few other bits. The frustrating part is that the book lists the number of teeth for Normale and Berlina gears, but while the Veloce gears have distinct part numbers, no tooth count info is mentioned in the description.

While the parts book lists different part numbers (but does not indicate the tooth count) for Veloce cars, the "Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1954-2004 Golden Anniversary" book claims the same gear ratios for the Normales and the Veloces. But the Tabucchi / d'Amico book lists different ratios for 1st & 2nd gears on the Veloce versions, however it does not specify if it is referring to Veloces with the tunnel trans or the split case trans.

And... in all my searching on this BB, I have found no mention of any difference in the different tunnel transmissions other than the original post in this thread, and in the column shift vs. floor shift threads. Lots of confusing information for a Giulietta newcomer such as myself! If any of you have any knowledge in this area and have a moment to clarify, I am probably not the only person who would be interested to know if the gears in the Veloce tunnel case transmissions are any different than those in the Normale cars.

Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't help, but hope someone else can, because this is interesting. On 101 cars, four-speed trans gear ratios were all the same, right? I wonder why it would have been different on 750 cars. Not disagreeing, because I don't know. Just wondering.
