Giulia Super 1300 Differential renovation& upgrade

After putting my 1972 Super off to hibernate for the winter about 7 months ago - yes, long winters in Scandinavia - I started to prioritize what needed to be worked on to make it even better for this summer.

The car having a 2 litre engine hooked up to the original non LSD 1300 diff, it has not always been easy to keep the rear wheel rubber on the road. Or rather, it has been too easy to leave the rubber on the road, since the power output far exceeds the weight, ratio, tires etc.

So my car budget has been prioritized as follows:

40% torsen LSD from Alfaholics retaining the original 1300 ratio
7x15" GTA replicas also from Alfaholics.

I'll see how these perform over the summer and if need be, I may invest in headers and a proper exhaust system to even further raise power.

Pls look at some of the before, during and final images.

More will follow in the thread as soon as it is mounted.

Smile And finally

All of the elements together

And the cleaned and newly packed Dellorto's sneaked in too.

Can't wait to get the back mounted in the car and get it running.

Oh and a nice picture of the Giulia too:

Great job !!
But you removed all of the factory ' rust protection ' ;^)
Am considering routing the crankcase breather into the rocker panel cavities on my Super. They will never again rust with a constant oil mist :^)

Underseal coating

Impatiently awaiting my LSD for the diff from Alfaholics - the 40% torsen type, before I can have the axle and diff put back in to the car. Went out to the garage and took a few pic's today to give an idea of what it looks like. Including the engine compartment wich is going to have new rubbers mounted on the carb mounts and then on with the rebuilt Dellorto's.
Can't wait to get her going.
Interior is pretty original too - however, I am missing a radio blend for the dashboard - and I've taken the rubber mats out and will put them back after the floor has been given a thorough clean, scrub and paint.

I hope it's just my eyes deceiving me, but you appear to have some serious coil bind on those rear springs!

They are not

I see what you are saying - however, I haven't fitted the springs myself. Entrusted that to my mechanics who lowered the car.

Tk a look at it in it's normal stance - with the rearcoils.
