I have a spare trans for the Chick Magnet and thought I would get it apart and cleaned up today. It looks surprisingly good inside. As near as I can tell all of the teeth on the sliding collars and the matching gears are nice & sharp. The 5th/rev shift fork is DOA. I tried the rev idler gear on one of the other shift forks and it has a nice fit so I believe the gear will be fine for reuse. All of the bearings are smooth. Is there anything else that I should inspect before I lay down the cash for synchros & a shift fork?
