Throw Out Bearing Retaining Clip Question

I took this apart about six months ago, and now I am not sure how the retaining clips go back. All the books I have show a different style clip mount. The bell housing is from a 1300 Giulietta and there are two spring clips that hold the throw out bearing in place. Each wire clip is "U" shaped and has a tight spiral on each end, which I think goes into recess on the pivot shaft of the throw out bearing. The center U shaped section of the clip then "snaps" back over the fork. It seems to be OK, but not very secure, in my opinion. I am wondering if I have it installed properly. I have tried several ways to install the clips and none give me a real "warm fuzzy" feeling. The clip doesn't really snap very well into position.
Can anyone give me a description of how these clips are supposed to fit ?
Thanks for any help

Many different ways will work if you have the newer clips that look sort of like paper clips on steroids. For me, I thought it worked best with the open ends with the loops fitting inside the concave sides of the T/O bearing arms, and the little bump on the closed end loop of the clip fitting in a little recess on the back of the yoke where the T/O bearing arm fits in, and with the clip going over the top of the T/O bearing arm and yoke.

I can take a picture later and try to post it up.

Does that help?

Thanks. I think that is close to the way I have it installed, although I pushed the U shaped portion of the clip down as far as it would go. I did notice the little recess at the back of the yoke, but the clip seemed to be sticking out too far. Yes... a picture would be appreciated.

I'll have the same question shortly, as the TO bearing fork I just took out had no clip at all. I can never recall from one car to the next which way it goes.
So a pic would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to try to pull my gearbox this evening, which is Wednesday (if time permits), and I can shoot a picture then. I would shoot one from up through the clutch inspection area with the box still on the motor, but that won't show much.
