Interchangeable Flywheel?

It's time for a new clutch in my '68 Spider Junior. I will need a new rear main seal, so I am going to have the flywheel reconditioned. Rather than waiting until I got the flywheel off, I was thinking I would have a machine shop recondition a flywheel I already have on the shelf that I took off of a 1300cc 105 motor out of a 1970 Giulia Sedan (same 00530 prefix on the motor, but a later motor obviously). That way, I could even have the new driven plate and pressure plate balanced with the flywheel on the bench before I even take the gearbox off and save me in total downtime.

Problem is, I don't have a book that will tell me if the two 1300 flywheels will be interchangeable. I suppose they could even be the same part, but I can't find out without some assistance.

The 1300 flywheel I have from the '70 Giulia is part no. 105410240000. My Duetto manual (1600 motor, but with the same mechanical clutch set up as my Junior) specifies a flywheel 105000204001. I don't have a manual (even my original-issue specs manual for the Junior) that shows me what my Junior's current flywheel part number is.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance.

They are interchangable, altho my checking shows the 1300 flywheel at 18 lbs, and the 1600 fly wheel to be one pound heavier.

Thanks, George. I guess I was also concerned because I thought the later flywheel might only accept the pressure plate from the hydraulic cars, while my car has the older, mechanical actuation like a Duetto. Does that affect your answer?

Thanks again for the quick reply.

1750 engines use the later diaphram pressure plate, and must use the hydralic bell housing as the ring gear is larger in diameter.

I believe very late 1300s and 1600s (by US standards; post 1970?) will use the 1750/2000 diaphragm type clutch if they have the hanging pedals and hydraulic clutch master cylinder. This would be after 1300s and 1600s stopped getting imported to the US.
