Careful. With one of the shift rods out, it's easy to loose the oval shift interlock balls.

Didn't see new o-ring seals on the shift rods either. (picky, picky)

Nice Pic!

Very cool. I'm glad you know how it all goes back together!

I've found that it's always easier to take things apart than get them back together

the first time i rebuilt a gearbox, i was very nervous about knowing how to put it all back together. fully dissassembled, the sheer number of parts is daunting

but once i had it all apart, and saw how the gear change works and the gear/synchro assemblies worked, it all made sense. it was much, much easier understanding how to reassemble than i had feared !! having a shop manual handy doesn't hurt much either . . .

getting the gears in the correct order is easy, and all the synchro assemblies are the same
the shifter interlock system is pure simplistic genious !!

nice photo . . . it would be even cooler if everything was layed out like an exploded view drawing

Yes, it was assembled successfully.

My friend use it in his TwinSpark Berlina. Works like new.
(Yes we are two "dudes" with TwinSpark Berlinas in our small town.)

The reason Alfa rebuilds take so long! We feel a need to line eveything up for photographs :-)
