Question not to beat a dead horse but...

if i take off the dog gear from the gear itself, can i drill all the way thru the gear insted of going .7 into the gear? all the imfo i have on lighting the gear has it done with the dog gear on the gear itself. so they only drill .7 into it.also i might have some good news for the gearbox, in extra parts( dog gear , scyhro parts.) stay tuned.

To the drilling yes. Now the question you didn't ask. Can one under cut both sides of the gear now that the Dog Gear is out of the way? Answer is yes and you should undercut with a carbide lathe tool before drilling as that gets rid of the case hardening and makes for easier drilling. Also if you drill first the holes then become hard on the carbide lathe tool.

Ciao
