I have two transmissions. One I know came from a 1974 Spider, The other I just pulled from my 1969 GTV 1750(105.44). The motor was changed by a PO to a 2l, the transmission I'm not sure. I know it looks different from the one that came out of the '74 Spider. I rebuilt the one from the Spider with new syncro's and lighter gears to go into my GTV. The question I have is about a switch that is on the side of the '74 trans, it is on the drivers side just below the shifter. It looks like it could be some form of neutral safety switch or is there another reason for it? The other trans does not have this.
