Filling transmission

I finally have all my parts together! I hope to reinstall my the trans in the Duetto Saturday. It seems the best way to fill the transmission once installed is through the shift tower. I'll remove the fill plug, and pour the fluid into the shift tower till it drips the fill plug hole. Is this the best way?

A 4 foot piece of soft clear tubing you can get at Lowe's in a roll. Maybe a 5/8 diameter... Easy for one person to do. One end in the tranny, it tucks in far enough not to pop out and run it up past the exhaust to the left side of the engine at the M/C. I attached a small funnel I use for just about everything and filled the tranny in a minute. I also used the method to flush out the old oil hanging on the gears as I switched to synthetic on my latest barn find 79 Spider. I'll be doing the same thing to the GTV's. I know others use this method, and it worked great for me. Very simple and clean.

This may be sacrilege but..

I actually took my Spirex with me to Jiffy Lube and had the guy do it for me from the pit. I made sure to watch him and make sure he put in the right amount. They also used a little sealer around the drain plug. Worked well no muss no fuss $20.

Sta-Lube hand pump

Found these to be cheap and easy to use with oily hands. The ears that grab onto the threaded edge are extra helpful.

remove fill plug, snake hose up to engine compartment along side exhaust remove drain plug, let trans drain. replace drain plug, use slightly less than two quarts to fill trans.

It really is self explantory
