Cool Panasports for Alfa Spider?

I recently bought a '90 Spider from a friend. He bought it used many years ago. The car is dead stock and it a great driving car. Up to now I'd been a Brit sports car guy (Triumph and MG). I guess I didn't know what I was missing! Nevertheless, I'm now considering replacing the five-spoke stock wheels with a set of Panasports. I have Panasports on my TR6 and they look great and handle very well. I recently spotted an ad in a local sports car dealership listing for a '86 Spider equipped with Panasport wheels. It looked great. Anyone have any personal experience putting Panasports on a Spider, good or bad?

They are nice. I bought a set for my TR6 many years ago before they became REALLY expensive. But I'm not terribly impressed with the five-spoke stock wheels on the Spider. I just don't know if I have the appetite to chin the cost for the Panasports for the Spider without talking with someone who has a set on their Spider. I assume the dimension is the same and the offset, too. I had not intended to go with an oversized tire on the car. I think I can use the current tire which I find very acceptable.

Our '84 Spider came with 15" Panasports. I like the look.

The Rota panasport knock-offs are nice and there are no fitment problems. And don't believe the Centerline hype about the cheap ones on eBay.

My 91 spider (bought in winter of 2015/2016) came with a set of powder coated black Rota 16x7. So far I experienced no problems, no vibration and track straight. I also have 15x7 Panasport on my 74 GTV, very nice. I believe Rota does not use steel inserts. VTO also sells minilight replica but the wheels come with steel inserts.

Panasports on mine

I have 14 inch panasports on mine. My car came with 5 of these.
I like them, but tire choice can be limited in 14 inch.

I also went with the 15" Rotas from Ebay. My local Discount Tire had the rubber in stock and they fit perfectly out of the box with no spacers or anything.

How I wish Panasport or Rota made wheels to fit the 101 Spiders. I would love to put a set on my '64 Giulia Spider, but don't want the risk of tearing up the lips on the fenders.

There is a thread on wheels for 105's that has a lot of data. You need to get the correct offset (an obscure wheel parameter) for your car. It affects tire rubbing, and depends on tire size. 15's are popular nowadays as there are more choices in tires that you might find in 14 inches.

If I remeber well the offset is ok. (the Rota I have are ET 30, not that wide). You may try to find someone who has a set to try if it fits.

I bought a set of Panasports from Paul Spruell Alfa. I had the choice of 14" or 15" diameter. Various colors and widths available also. Love them
