rear caliper overhaul questions

Took my rear calipers apart to overhaul them. The pistons look good but are different. The bottom of the pistons have different offset depths,2 deep 2 shallow. I would guess the deep offset would go toward the line side of caliper but do not know. Anyone have experience with kits?
