Brake piston templet is it a must have?

I'm getting ready to put some modern brake pads on my 69 105, and was reading through the owers manual. I noticed that they reference some sort of a templet to align the pistons. I understand that the rear ATE calipers need to be wound back to the correct height. Will I need this templet or can I eye-ball it?

I'm planning on running a set of KFP Blue pads front and rear, has anyone run these? I have them on the front of the other car, but was curious if anyone else has run them.

Thanks,
Will

Hey Will,
I just put new rubber seals on my front calipers last week. I went to IAP's website, printed out their template/brake instruction sheet, and trace cut it out on some cardboard I had laying around. You probably could just eyeball it but the template is easy to use-plus, I like to get brakes right-not good if you don't...

Can't help ya with the pads-never used any blue pads.
