GTV rear swaybar bushing

As previously mentioned, the nuts from the top of the rear D/S shocks loosened and came off. The shock therefore contracted and withdrew from its position in the trunk. Last night I took the shock off and while in the process noticed that the rubber bushing in the top of the swaybay wasn't centered in the "up and down piece" (that I don't know the name of). The bottom piece of that part has an end washer with a nut that keeps the bushing "in there." The top piece has no washer and nut assembly? Is that correct? Do I just push the rubber bushing in and should it just stay there? I'm assuming it came out because of the shock detachment. And don't worry, I have a new exhaust system to replace the old one you see

Interesting. Either the bushing wasn't properly torqued down, causing it to be loose, or there are latteral forces being applied to the sway bar. Which shouldn't be happening. But might be caused by the shock coming out.

I'd just replace the bushing and be done with it. But check all the other bushings to make sure they're in good condition and in the proper location.

Should there be a washer/bolt arrangement to hold the bushing in? I felt around and there didn't appear any threads on the swaybar to hold a nut. By your comment that "the bushing wasn't torqued" I sense you're telling me it should be held in by a nut. Yes? I didn't look at the other side which I will obviously will do tonight.
