We don't got too many of those here in Sweden but from what I heard they are quite nice, nothing like the 032 but more like Toyo 888.

You are talking V770? or V700 or whatever they are called? The track tire?

I've run the Kumho Ecsta V700 race tires on my 75 before. The impression I got was that it is a decent tire, but it's no fireball. That is to say, it's not very fast.

The good thing is, it's very light. As the picture below shows, it weighs very little in the size 205/45/16 (the size I ran). 17lbs was all my bathroom scale registered.

Is it faster than a street tire? Yes. But I'd say you'd be better off with the older Kumho Victoracer tires (if you wanna go cheap).

However, if you were already budgeting for USD150 to USD200, then there's Hoosier, Yoko's, Michelin Pilots, etc. available in that price range that will offer MUCH more performance for not much more cash.

150-200 USD? For what size Yokos and which tire? I hope you mean per tire? Otherwise it's dirt cheap compared to here...

Italcarguy.

I have run both the Victoracer and Ecsta V700 on my GTV. They are very similar, but make sure that you get them shaved and heat cycle them. They will hold up well if you do that, otherwise they will come off in chunks.

They are very predictable and really like 2-3 deg of camber. I have not run the 032's but I have run Hoosier's and they are not as quick. Lots of guys here buy them unshaved and use them as intermediates.

Good luck.

Bigswede, yes, those prices are per tire

Sorry to get yer hopes up, buddy!

74GTVEEE, I think you guys running the older (lighter) cars can get more performance out of the same tire versus those of us who run the later (and heavier) cars. There is a marked difference in car behavior on the 75/GTV6 platform between the two tires. The older Victoracer is definitely faster, and seems to last longer.

And for trivia's sake, the R-compound BF Goodrich's are sorely missed. Those were awesome tires. Too bad they no longer make 'em.
