engine mounts

Does anyone know how one would go about replacing the rear engine/bellhousing mount on an '80 GTV? Does the housing have to be taken out or can it be fitted in the car?

The bell housing does not have to be removed. You will have to disconnect the mount from the drive shaft tunnel. Then, you can use a jack at the front of the engine to raise is slightly. This will lower the rear of the bell housing. You may be able to use an air hammer to remove the old one. I scrounged around and found a couple of round objects and a long bolt to simulate the factory tool Works like a champ.

The other alternative is to use a hack saw to cut thru the old one.
