".........Also, I'm having braking problems ( long pedal and fade). I think the exh collector pipe run so close to the brake lines may conbritute to fading on track use. It dosen't leak any brake fluid. I suspect it maybe a worn mc. I cant seem to lock them up. Do you know where I can find one new or used? I was reading up on some of brake up grades (2002 tii, outlaw,milano,911 2.7 RS etc..) Has anyone ran the 69 dual mc with out the booster sucessfully? It been nice to get rid of some weight and piping in the enginebay. I'm leaning towards outlaw calipers (valant's 41mm too big ?) for weight advantage and straight bolt on appeal. But I'm hoping if anyone knows the rights piston size to run without an inline adjustable brake bias. I know Ralph here in Mich. ran boosted Outlaws (piston size?) in front and none in the rears on his suped up 69 gtv."

Excessive pedal travel and brake fade are two different symptoms, usually unrelated, with each having different causes.
Some of the causes for long pedal travel include;
brake master cylinder linkage out of adjustment
air in the system
loose front wheel bearings
excessive rear axle endplay
brake hose expansion
and, if the m/c isn't stock, the m/c to caliper piston bore ratio.
Brake fade is caused by overheating. Some of the causes are;
brakepad material
glazed rotors
rotors too thin
frozen caliper piston(s)
contaminated brake fluid
Although a possible cause, and a problem for post 1970 cars with hanging pedals, I've not experienced exhaust temps affecting floor pedal brake systems. But maybe I just don't drive fast enough.
Of the two masters pictured, which one do you have? The top m/c is a single circuit and the bottom one is a tandem.
