suspension mods....tyres.

hello all.i am new to this forum ,i have just started to restore / renovate my 84 spider veloce.everything is still stock / original ,i have replaced the rear suspension with iap performance springs and bushings,i also replaced the shocks with the yellow konis,on reading a few posts on this list i think i might have been better off with the red units ,does anyone have any tips on where to set these shocks for brisk street driving? i have to replace the tyres,i have the stock 14 inch wheels with pirelli p-400, how should i go ,bigger ,wider or stay the same.any suggestions will be most welcome.

Welcome to the BB, Norton. What part of Texas are you from? Im in College Station.
To answer your q's, I believe you want to set your yellows at a little over full soft on the fronts and full soft on back for normal street driving. For AutoXing and 'brisk' street driving you will have to test as you go. Whatever feels good to you and your driving style is the 'correct' settting. If you have not changed out your bushings, I would also do that before any wild changes to the shock settings, as time and money permit.
I am running 195x60x14's on the stock Turbina rims and love it. I could go to 205 but will wait for 6" rims.
Hope this helps. Good to have another Texan on the site!

I have reds on mine and that is what works best for me 90% of the time. For AutoXing and 'brisk' street driving you will have to test as you go. Thumbs up

thanks bill,i'm in houston by the way.i replaced all the rear bushes ,including the trunnion bushings, which i hope never to do again,a p.i.t.a..i also added the thicker sway bar.i had set the shocks at one quarter turn off the soft setting,i may remove them and go to the soft setting before i go any further.although thats more work than i need at the moment, since i'm about to tackle the front end.
