Awesome info Jim!

The TSB page I have for 914's only describes the cutoff and didn't have the graph. Quite the cool little valve.

Eric/Jim,
Thanks for the supplementary information.

I've just returned from overseas (Italy) so please forgive any unanswered correspondence. Amongst everything else, I had an interesting day at the old Weber factory in Bologna and an interesting afternoon at a little place outside Bologna called Maranello. Didn't get to Sant'Agata Bolognese though

I still have a collection of the cup seals if anyone requires them. PM me and I'll post a couple to you.

The one I've had in hydraulic fluid for the last 3 months shows no signs of deterioration and the brakes on my car are brilliant.

Regards,
Chris

This "interesting" little valve on a 69 (original valve) was indicted by an experienced Alfa-racing mechanic as causing a rear-end drift - always to the right on the rear - upon moderately hard braking. The valve was old and grungy and with fluid in the spring adjustment chamber. We replaced it with a better looking used one and the condition cleared up.
