Ford wheels on GTV: no mods?
I've seen various Ford Mustang 15x7" wheels (4x108mm bolt pattern) mounted on GTVs and other Alfas.
Does anyone know if they fit right up without modification (ie wheel spacers to clear the calipers or needing to enlarge the center bore of the wheel) ?

OK, fine. I'll answer my own question.
I've just fitted a set of Ford Mustang 15x7" wheels to my GTV, and they slip right on without any modifications. The offset is just right, so there are no rubbing or interferance issues, even though my car is lowered 2 or more inches.
The only problem is, the Ford center bore is a few mm bigger than the Alfa, so technically the wheels need a centering ring. I've driven the car without them, and there doesn't seem to be any balance problem, but without centering directly on the hubs, the wheels put excessive force through the wheel studs. Hmm... I'll look into this.
Still, kind of a nice find, since these wheels are relatively cheap and readilly available.

The front spindle diameter and rear hub diameter on your car are different, the factory wheels didn't come with rings and weren't hubcentric or at least not on all 4 corners at once anyway. Why raise it as a concern now after all these decades of thousands of GTVs and spiders working fine without it? As long as the wheel fits nice and flat on the hub faces and the lug nuts engage properly, it really shouldn't be a thing.
Regarding the wheels you aquired: just what era Mustang are you talking about?
The only ones I recall off hand that weren't 5 bolt pattern and would have the proper 4 bolt pattern would be from around mid 1970's through mid 1980's. (I belive the 'fox body' era of thier cars would also fall into that spec, but due to front wheel drive, the offset is likely too much)

I'll post pics later.
Glad to hear the original wheels aren't hub centric. They seem to work just fine. I was worried I might be stressing the wheel studs more than they were designed for, but if the fit is the same as the original wheels, I should be OK.
The wheels are off a mid-'80s Mustang GT, so 4-bolt (4 x 4.25" PCD, same as 4 x 108mm) and RWD offset. Not sure of the exact offset, but they fit remarkably well, with no rubbing issues whatsoever. They're the "Turbine" style, so similar in a way to Alfa's own "Turbina", and they look kind of period correct.
I'll try to post some pics soon.

20mm offset
OK, a quick Google search of some Mustang forums indicates the "Turbine" wheels have a 20mm offset, which is pretty consistent with the offset on other 7" rims fitted to GTVs.
