Item number: 200314448789

eBay Motors: Alfa Romeo 105 115 NOS Shankle 7" Alloy Wheels 4X108 (item 200314448789 end time Mar-04-09 20:58:36 PST)

I have no connection to this auction this just FWIW

Ciao

Ken, I have been amazed as the bids have climbed for these wheels! They got bid up to $2000, and then 2 new bidders came in and carried them to $3650. I have 7 of them, and would love to find an odd wheel to finish the second set. But at these prices, maybe I should just sell them and get another set of original GTA magnesium wheels.

Those are really cool wheels, but not for nearly $4k. Thats more than many of the spiders sell for as complete running cars!

I've watched the bid history on that and something funny is going on there.

Maybe, but I doubt it. There are too many bidders involved, and the seller is trying to downplay expectations, not encourage a bidding war!

That looks fishy to me too. The one bidder (of the last 2 bidders in the race) has 75% of all his bids (ever) on those rims and the other bidder 85%.

Bob, I believe those percentages are for the last 30 days, not forever. Or am I misreading something? I hope the winning bidder comes through, because the seller is a very nice guy.

"30-Day Bid History"

Erik, yupp, your right... sorry, I didn't see that the first time around. Those really are beautiful wheels but not $4000-beautiful, at least not to me.

Insane. I've had those, and tended to sell for about €400 an average set.
Why are these so valuable? What's the big deal here?
