SUpport your local Alfa mechanic

For those of us in cold climates, I suggest that now is the time to take your Alfa into your local mechanic to have the work done you were planning on doing last fall or summer, but never got around to doing. This is the time of year that the mechanic has a little more time available, and you will get at least a few days of free storage. Your mechanic will appreciate the work and be much more willing to help you in an emergency you may have during the prime driving season if you have already spent some money at his shop during the winter. On a more selfish level, your car will be ready to go when the warm weather finally arrives and you won't have to sit waiting for the repairs to be done while 40 other owners are banging on the mechanics door all of them wanting their cars repaired at the same time. Your car will be on the road while theirs is broken in the garage or marginal and not that much fun to drive.

Not to cynical, but nothing is free in this world. Even though there may not be a line item on the invoice, it's factored in there somehow.

With as many mechanics hurting for work as there is now, you might even get a bit of a price break just to get the business, they like you can't afford to give much but anything is better than nothing. That's what I do for my older customers but not very often for new customers just shopping price. But the point is well taken, most specialty shops are jambed once the weather turns warmer and the salt is gone. Bill
