Trailing arm bushing replacement

Had some spare time this week and decided to change the rear trailing arm bushings. Had been putting it off as everyone said it was such a pain.
Car is an early '67 GTV with the small front bushes. Luckily, those looked fresh and must have been replaced before. But the rears looked original and shot !!
Rather than burning out the rubber as some do, I decided to try a small drill and work my way around the perimeter of the rubber. To my suprise, it only took about 15 min. to remove the rubber from each bush.
Next the hacksaw thru the metal shell and that went pretty quick too.
In with the poly bushes and back on the car !
About 6 hours total from start to finish

This is the method I used recently as well. And it is much easier than it sounds. I first tried to press the bushings out using a benchtop hydraulic press. It quickly became clear that I was damaging the original welds on the trailing arm without moving the actual bushings. After using the drill and hacksaw method, I won't ever bother to attempt the press again.

Hi,
what bushes did you use as a replacement ?
Standart, stiffer rübber or PU (e.g. superf...) ?
best regards
Herbert

On my street car I use stock front and rear. On the race car, I use stock in the rear and a spherical bearing in front.
